Description
Residual Pressure Valves (RPV)
Prevents a Back Flow of Contaminants
Residual Pressure Valves (RPV) protect cylinders and their contents from a back flow of contaminants and foreign substances. Residual Pressure Valves retain very small amounts of the filled gas (approximately 55-85 PSI) inside the valve to ensure continued purity inside the vessel. RPVs are available in CGA-320 and CGA-580 models.
Residual Pressure Valves are typically installed on industrial aluminum cylinders for specialty gases. However, with the rise in popularity of use, RPVs can also be used on aluminum CO2, aluminum medical, and high pressure steel cylinders for many other types of applications.
RPV Key Features
- Durable forged brass body with precisely machined internal components
- Unitized plug design provides excellent flow characteristics
- Dynamic front piston seal design avoids direct contact with flow passage during filling
- Various inlet and outlet thread configurations available
- 100% helium leak tested
- Meets stringent international valve performance standards
Benefits
- Prevents back flow of contaminants and foreign substances
- Maintains integrity of contents, even if valve is left open
- Retains small amount of filled gas (approximately 55-85 PSI) to ensure purity inside vessel
- Eliminates expense of a time-consuming purge-and-clean cycle
- Protects and extends life of cylinder by preventing ingress of moisture
